    Hi Karen, In a couple of months will be cruising on a 4 days to the bahamas, 2a & 4 yrs old son we're very excited this is our 1st time, due to our lower budget,we need info on what other transportation we will find in nassau besides reserve a tour?

    Hi Vanessa,

    Welcome to the Moms Panel!  How exciting that you'll be visiting Nassau, Bahamas for the first time. 

    If you have a specific destination in mind while in Nassau, you will find plenty of taxis as you walk off the pier from the ship.  Be sure to set your rate with the driver prior to accepting a ride. 

    When my children were this age, we would take a taxi over to the Atlantis Resort.  Although we did not pay for entrance into their feature aquariums and water parks there were a few large fish tanks in the public areas that were enough to suffice our little ones.  We did some window shopping and general exploring before taking a taxi back to the ship.
     
    In the same vicinity of the Atlantis Resort is Cabbage Beach, which is a public beach that is quite popular among cruise ship guests.  Personally I have found the waters in this area to be a a little to rough for the little kids, so we avoid this area - and reserve our "beach" time for Castaway Cay.

    Now I'll be totally honest and tell you our favorite "excursion" while in Nassau is taking advantage of the ship's amenities while everyone else is off in port.  Since your kids are relatively young, this is a great time to allow them them to enjoy the Mickey Pool at one of it's least crowded times.
