Hi Kara, We are planning our very first Disney adventure. I would like to go in November and wondered where would be nicer to stay in the holiday season: the Poly ( where i have always thought i would stay in warm weather) or the Grand Floridian?

    Hi Stephanie,

Hands-down, I would select the Grand Floridian!  It is truly sprinkled with holiday pixie dust from head to toe beginning with the lobby and its Victorian Christmas tree that is the center of attention.  Beside the tree is a life-size gingerbread-house that is a wonder itself; guests can even buy cookies and treats from the little shop within the house.  In addition to these spectacular sights, the fresh flowers throughout the resort will look even more magical with their holiday colors; the gardens, too, are even more special with the rows and rows of poinsettia flowers.  Did I mention the live band that plays Christmas music in the lobby?

We do love the Polynesian, too; in fact it was the resort we just stayed at this summer.  But to me it just can't compare to the grandeur of the Grand Floridian at Christmas.

I do want to double-check when you are planning to visit in November since the decorations will begin to go up during this month; but if you are visiting early, you may not see everything.

Have an absolutely magical first trip!  You have picked one of the best times to visit WDW!
