    Kara, I watched your video on birthdays. I loved the Coral Reef birthday idea. When you request the Happy Birthday sign from the scuba diver, does it cost anything extra? How far in advance would I need to request that?

    Currently, the special diver is part of a Year of a Million Dreams and is done in partnership with DiveQuest with no cost.   I don't know if this will change for 2009.  Since there are only a few opportunities each day to do this, I wouldn't hesitate to send your request in ASAP once you have a dining reservation.  To make the request for a dive banner, you need to send an email to wdw.epcot.coral.reef.restaurant@disney.com   

    You can also arrange to have a personalized menu when celebrating special events!  Just use the same email to send in your request.  

    It really was an amazing surprise for our son who had no clue it was going to happen.  He thought they were only filming his birthday cake.  On the same evening, a man proposed to his future wife through a diver.  The whole restaurant cheered and applauded -- truly a magical evening!
