Hi Kara, My husband and I are taking our sons,6 and 9, to WDW in Nov. We are staying at Port Orleans. Do you suggest Riverside or French Quarter? What do you suggust for must sees, dos, haves, etc? Thanks. Jenn West Omaha, NE

    Hi Jennifer and fellow Omahan!

Riverside or French Quarter?  Hmmm, I do love Riverside, but I prefer French Quarter since the resort is half the size and the pool is so much fun for kids.  Plus, you can enjoy all that Riverside has to offer since they are neighbors.  It also serves up those yummy beignets!

Now, the must sees....I would try to see all 4 theme parks since they each have their own magic.  I keep drafting a list of must-sees at each park and why, but I'm limited to space and having my answer rejected (so sorry - maybe another question?).   If you haven't ordered the free vacation planning DVD and customized maps, that is a great way to explore the attractions.

In addition to the parks, we try to work in some time to wander around Downtown Disney where my sons insist on visiting Once Upon a Toy, World of Disney, and Lego Imagination Center.  They are also active with pin-trading, so we stop by Disney's Pin Traders with its large collection of pins to look at.

We also love resort exploring and try to make stops at the Grand Floridian for a late breakfast at the Grand Floridian Cafe, the Wilderness Lodge for dinner at Whispering Çanyon Cafe, and Bomas at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.  I'd also try to include a character meal, possibly Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary to meet the Disney gang:  Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto, and Goofy.
