    Jarrod from TX Asked

We want to come in June of this year? Will there be fast passes how will this work in June?

Hey there, Jarrod. Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question! June is such a great time to visit Walt Disney World. The weather is perfect for a dip in the pool at your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel.

Since the reopening of Walt Disney World last year, the FastPass+ Reservation system has not yet returned to Walt Disney World Theme Parks. Because there has been no announcement of its return date, it is highly unlikely, in my opinion, that the FastPass+ reservation system will resume by your trip in June. Since the reopening, Disney has provided plenty of notice for all of its updates but please do keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog. If there is an announcement to be made, that's where you are going to find it.

Navigating the Walt Disney World Theme Parks without the option of FastPass+ reservation was a bit difficult to get used to at first, but now my family and I feel like pros. If you are concerned about the wait times getting too high for some of the more popular attractions, my biggest suggestion is to arrive at the theme parks as early as possible. If the park is scheduled to open at 9:00 a.m. be at the entrance gates at 8:00 a.m.. Arriving early will allow you to park if you are driving yourself, go through temperate checks and security and get in line for the park opening. Often times, especially to promote physical distancing, the parks open early for Guests to make their way to the first attraction of their choosing.  I was actually at Animal Kingdom Theme Park this morning and had ridden Avatar Flight of Passage, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Expedition Everest and DINOSAUR all before 10:00 a.m. The park technically opened at 8:00 a.m. and we were at the parking gates right at 7:00 a.m. and out of our car at 7:15 a.m. walking to the front. Arriving early at the Walt Disney World Theme Parks really sets up your day for success.

Arriving early can make for a long day. What I typically like to do is head back to my Walt Disney World Resort Hotel around lunch-time for a break. I like to hang out by the pool but this could also look like a nap in the room. After some down-time, I like to grab a bite to eat. My current favorite place to eat is the BOATHOUSE at Disney Springs. After dinner is another great time to head back to the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. I find that often times the crowds have thinned out again, making wait times more manageable. Also, Park Hopping has officially returned to Walt Disney World so if you didn't want to go back to the same park, you could pick a different one!

Park hopping does look a bit different, here's how it is currently working:
    • Guests wishing to park hop must have valid theme park admission with the park hopper option
    • Guests must make a theme park reservation for the first park of the day and scan into that park
    • Guests can park hop starting at 2:00 p.m. each day but is subject to park capacity limitations.
I hope this helps you plan your day, Jarrod. If you have any other questions before your trip, please feel free to come back and ask me. Enjoy!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
