We will be going in June, what type of clothes are best to be walking around and getting wet in? I don't want to take an extra set for 4. I know we want to wear sandals or flip flops, what would you recommend for the all day walking?

    Hi Kaylene,

I love your question - mostly because my Disney friends just had a couple of discussions about our favorite type of clothing and footwear for wearing in the Disney parks. Overall the consensus is to wear comfortable clothing that wicks. Clothing like this can usually be found in the athletic clothing section of your favorite department or discount store. As long as the tag says something like "wicking" "tech" or "dri-weave" then it is designed to evaporate moisture. Cotton holds onto moisture and is not a good choice in this case. There are a lot of fun choices ranging from workout clothes to swimming trunks. In fact my little boys' favorite shorts to wear in the parks are actually swimming trunks paired with wicking underwear.

Shoe preferences vary quite a bit. Many of us love sport style sandals and sport flip flops while some swear by their running shoes/tennis shoes. Personally I wear sport sandals while my husband usually wears his running shoes paired with a good pair of wicking socks. We pack a second pair of shoes so that we can alternate shoes periodically and avoid any hot spots. The key is to find out what is most comfortable for each person and make sure the shoes you bring are broken in. In the sandal category here are the top brands listed by my friends:  Keen, Chaco, Teva, Fit Flops, and Crocs.

Another tip for you is to bring anti-chafing balm. Balms can be used to avoid blisters/chafing and are available in a tube or a stick. There are many brands and they are available at any sporting goods store and most discount department stores in the health and beauty section.

Have a Magical vacation and please let us know if you have any further questions!

    Blessings,
