This June we are taking our 2 year old son to celebrate his birthday. We are also celebrating our 5th anniversary. Some family members are joining the fun and agreed to watch the lil one while we go have a nice dinner out. What would you recommend?

    Hi Robert!

Happy Anniversary! What a great way to celebrate.

Wow, I want to throw out so many options but I'll try to narrow it down to a top five list:

Coming in at #5: The California Grill at Disney's Contemporary Resort. If you can time your reservation so you'll be able to see the nightly fireworks display at the Magic Kingdom, it'll be a nice addition to a wonderful meal. Plus, taking a leisurely stroll onto the balcony to gaze over the Magic Kingdom is a nice way to cap off the evening.

Coming in at #4: Le Cellier in Epcot's Canada pavilion. The food is fantastic, but the atmosphere is also really unique in this restaurant. It's much smaller than other restaurants on property, so it can be great for a romantic dinner for two.

Coming in at #3: Todd English's bluezoo in the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel. Not many people know about this little gem, but it has outstanding food, service, and ambiance.

Coming in at #2: Victoria & Albert's at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. This is the cream of the crop and I can go on for hours as to why that is. You may be asking yourself, "If it's the cream of the crop, why is it #2 on Derek's list?"  You'll see!

    [DRUMROLL]

Coming in at #1: A private cruise and dinner for two on The Grand 1. This is a 52-foot yacht that sets sail from Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and cruises around the Seven Seas Lagoon while you dine with butler service and ultimately watch the Magic Kingdom's nightly fireworks display.

I hope that helps. If none of those options jump out at you and yell "PICK ME," please feel free to write me back and I'll throw out some other options. I love talking about the dining experiences at Walt Disney World, so it'll be my pleasure to help in any way that I can.

    Bon Appetit!

    Best regards,
    Derek
