On June 2, we are going to Animal Kingdom, but have dinner reservations at Boma at 5:30, we will then come back to AK after dinner for the night show. What is the fastest way to travel to the lodge from AK? We do have a car available.

    Hi Michelle,

You have absolutely perfect timing with an upcoming visit to Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park on June 2 because, if you haven't already heard, Pandora - The World of Avatar is scheduled to make its long-awaited debut on May 27. This means you will be one of the very first guests to explore this incredible new land of floating mountains and bioluminescent plants for yourself! Keep watching the Disney Parks Blog for more information and updates about Pandora as you get closer to your trip.

Now to your question...first, let me say I think your plan of briefly leaving Animal Kingdom to enjoy a meal at Boma - Flavors of Africa at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge sounds terrific! It is one of my favorite restaurants, with a whole host of experimental dishes for the adventurous as well as many standby old favorites. Since you have a car and Animal Kingdom Lodge is located so close to the Park, I recommend that you drive. Rivers of Light is currently scheduled for 9:30 p.m. on June 2, giving you plenty of time to enjoy a leisurely meal at Boma before heading back to the Park for this nighttime display of dazzling lights, music and dance to close your evening.

Have a fantastic meal at Boma, and be sure to say hi to the Na’vi of Pandora for me!
