Jun2013 4 day park hopper. With Lupus I'll need a cool dark place for an afternoon sit down. In MK I am planning on theTikki room. Suggestions for another spot in MK, Epcot(seated) and HS?

    Hi Heather.

There are many cool, dark places you can consider for an afternoon rest in the parks.

The Enchanted Tiki Room at Magic Kingdom is indeed one of them. Another spot to consider at Magic Kingdom would be Pirates of the Caribbean. The entire queue area is very dimly lit and lovely and cool. Another darker, cooler, long and relaxing spot to have a sit down would be Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress in Tomorrowland. Haunted Mansion also provides a very dark and cool area to spend a bit of time.

Over at Epcot, there are numerous additional options. Enjoy a dark, cool, seat in a ride vehicle at Spaceship Earth or Ellen's Energy Adventure inside the Universe of Energy. Both are slow moving, longer attractions that should give you that dose of R&R you're looking for. They're located close to one another, so you could easily visit them back to back. Another spot to visit would be the Mexico Pavilion. The inside of the pavilion has a few shops and a restaurant, as well as a water ride attraction. The inside of the pavilion is themed to be outdoors in Mexico at nighttime - so it's lovely, cool and dark.

At Hollywood Studios, some options may include The Great Movie Ride - a slow moving ride vehicle through recreations of old movie sets, or Voyage of The Little Mermaid - a seated, show-type attraction. Neither of these are terribly quiet, but cool and dark. Other considerations would be The Magic of Disney Animation and Walt Disney: One Man's Dream. These indoor attractions feature more dimly lit areas and places to sit and stay a while if you choose.

I hope these suggestions help you to plan some mid-afternoon sit-down time so that you're able to enjoy your days fully at Walt Disney World!
