Welcome Home, Denise! Thanks so much for sending me this excellent question about your upcoming
Walt Disney World Resort vacation. I know that you've been our guest at planDisney many times, and I am so happy that you're back. It's always a pleasure to meet a fellow
Disney Vacation Club Member, and like the Genie, I'm here to make some magic for you!
I can see that you are a Disney expert yourself, so I've been doing plenty of research to find just the right information to add a little extra pixie dust to your July vacation. I'm a little jealous that you are staying at
Disney's Beach Club Villas, but if you promise to savor a No Way Jose at
Beaches & Cream Soda Shop for me, I think I can get past it...
A
Character Dining experience is a must-do for those first-time Guests traveling with you this summer. I feel like a Walt Disney World vacation is not complete without one! While there are fewer options for resort dinners that feature characters, there are some wonderful restaurants to choose from for a memorable meal!
- Although you've visited Chef Mickey's yourself, Denise, I do love this character meal (I also enjoy a buffet, and the mac & cheese here is sooooo good!). Is there anything more iconic than seeing Mickey Mouse and friends while dining at Disney's Contemporary Resort? As an added bonus, you can hop the Monorail after dinner and make it to Magic Kingdom Park just in time to snag a prime viewing location for Happily Ever After!
- Just a couple of Monorail stops away, a lively character dinner at 1900 Park Fare awaits you at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. I was delighted to learn that this restaurant will be reopening in April--in plenty of time for your upcoming visit. The character lineup sounds amazing and includes Mirabel from Encanto, Aladdin, Tiana, and Cinderella! I certainly hope the legendary strawberry soup will still be on the menu.
- A hidden gem that you may not have experienced is Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. This is a more sophisticated dinner option, featuring individual entrees and shared appetizers and desserts. You'll have the opportunity for photos with Snow White and some of her friends--and perhaps even the Evil Queen!
Your plan for a check-out day breakfast at
Cape May Cafe is a great one! It's another chance for your group to see Mickey and friends before saying "See Ya Real Soon!"
Denise, I hope one of these dinner options (or maybe more! Why not?) fits your needs just like Cinderella's glass slipper. Thanks so much for making a return trip to planDisney and please visit us again anytime!
Stay Magical!
Susan
