Hi Megan,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Welcome to the July Walt Disney World crew! My family usually visits in July and we have a few tips.
The crowds are manageable but it does feel crowded. Just make your Fast Pass+ selections in advance. Also double-check the height requirements using the
Attractions List so that you know what your 6-year old can ride. If she is 44 inches tall, she can ride Avatar Flight of Passage. Other must do's - character meals, Toy Story Land and Jedi Training - Trials of the Temple. We need her help to battle the Dark Side!
To manage the heat, schedule your initial three Fast Pass+ selections for morning. We do a pre-park opening breakfast reservation at 8:00 a.m., then our Fast Pass+ selections from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. -12:00 a.m. If possible, schedule a fourth Fast Pass+ as soon as you finish the third one. Schedule that one for immediately after lunch. After your third Fast Pass+, grab lunch, then go do that fourth Fast Pass+. After that fourth Fast Pass+, head back to the resort to enjoy the pool. If possible, schedule another Fast Pass+ to do after dinner if dinner is in a park.
We always schedule dinner for one or two nights at our resort. We avoid being in a park between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Always have water bottles. We pick up complimentary cups of ice water from various restaurants and use those to refill our water bottles - the ice is precious. We also get a frozen treat during the day. And, we always eat lunch in air-conditioned restaurants. If you have a full-sized refrigerator with freezer in your room, freeze your water overnight and it will melt during the day so that you have cold water.
Megan, map out your park and pool strategy and you will make it!
Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
Donyell
