Going on the Magic-Mediterranean this July. We will be doing Port Adventures at all of the ports. What is appropriate clothing to wear while on our excursions in Greece, Turkey and Malta? We (husband, kids 8,10 & I) have not traveled to Europe before.

    Ahoy, Nicole!

Booking Disney Cruise Port Adventures at all the wonderful ports of call that you'll be visiting, is definitely the best way to make the most of your vacation. It will allow you to enjoy the sites and learn about the city or region from some of the best local tour guides available. Depending on which port adventures you choose, you can be rest assured that these will be family friendly tours and given a stamp of approval for Disney quality.

Expect the weather to be very hot in July. We visited in July as well, and it definitely felt like the peak of summer. Make sure you bring lots of sunscreen, and it really helps to wear a cap or a wide brimmed hat when you are out for your excursions. Shorts & shirts with moisture wicking fabric helps too, as it gets very hot & humid, you literally sweat under the shade. We were in Greece and there was hardly any shade... so I'm glad we all wore hats. It seemed funny to pack a small portable umbrella in my backpack - but it came very handy. I only brought 1 umbrella and my 2 kids ended up sharing it, while I stood under the sun... I'm Mom, of course! :-) Good thing that umbrella was bright & colorful and it was a great prop for our pictures. Make sure you wear comfortable walking shoes. You'll be walking on paved and unpaved surfaces and sometimes even dirt paths, uphill and downhill. If you visit any churches, then you'll need to dress appropriately too - which means, no shorts & no sleeveless tops. Otherwise, dress comfortably and try to pack a water bottle.

Taking a dip in the Aegean Sea will be a refreshing treat too! You'll likely notice the difference in the sea water there, compared to our beaches here in California. Salty! If you have any beach excursions planned, try to bring water shoes - the beaches are beautiful, but we did notice that it was a bit rocky. I hope that this helps.

Wishing you an awesome voyage, Nicole!
