What's going on for July 4th in Disney's parks ?

Hi there, Nathalie, and welcome to planDisney! It looks like you're arriving just in time to celebrate the Fourth of July at the Walt Disney World Resort, and with special fireworks, character appearances, and limited edition red, white, and blue merchandise, you're sure to find plenty of ways to participate in all of the patriotic celebrations that will celebrate America's independence! Let's dive into the details of some of them!

What Fourth of July celebration would be complete without fireworks? And while we can witness fireworks shows nightly at Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, and Disney's Hollywood Studios, there will be a special holiday fireworks display, Disney's Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky, at Magic Kingdom Park at 9:20 PM EST on July 3 and July 4. After the fireworks, stick around for a DJ and dance party in front of Cinderella Castle and throughout the park! Check your My Disney Experience mobile app for more details, times, and specific locations for this patriotic party in the park!

You will also find a special holiday fireworks show at EPCOT on July 4 at 9 PM EST. This show, The Heartbeat of Freedom, will follow Luminous The Symphony of Us, so you'll be treated to a double dose of firework magic that night!

Aside from fireworks, I'd encourage you to visit the American Adventure pavilion in EPCOT, where you can listen to patriotic tunes from the Voices of Liberty before browsing the newest art display Portraits of Courage: A Commander in Chief's Tribute to America's Warriors. This display features paintings of military veterans and service members to share their heroic stories of valor and courage. I had the opportunity to view the portraits earlier this month, and it is truly a moving tribute to those who have given so much of themselves to America. Don't forget to grab a seat inside for The American Adventure which retells the story of America with animatronics and music that truly bring history to life.

If you find yourself in Magic Kingdom Park, Liberty Square and The Hall of Presidents are great places to immerse yourself in the history of America on this day of independence, and the Daily Flag Retreat takes place in Town Square on Main Street, U.S.A. daily at 5 PM to offer tribute and gratitude to America's veterans.

Nathalie, one last tip I'll give you is to keep your eyes on the Disney Parks Blog for the Fourth of July Foodie Guide, set to be released on June 25! You're sure to find some delightful treats for a limited time during this season of celebration!

I hope this helps you to plan for your day and gives you ideas on how to paint the parks red (and white and blue!) It's sure to be a magical celebration of freedom, fireworks, food, and family!

    See you real soon,
    Alison
