Hi Rhonda,
Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. My husband once had a conference at
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, and I flew down to Walt Disney World to join him. This is when we truly fell in love with Walt Disney World!
My initial recommendation is that you all do stay at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, especially if you will not have a car and will be relying on Disney transportation. The reason that I make this recommendation is that there is not transportation available directly from other resorts to Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. If you are going to be making this trip often, it would require a decent amount of time using Disney transportation. Also, I really like Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. It feels relaxing to me given the spread out nature of the resort, and I think that the southwestern theme is beautiful, especially at night.
If you are willing to take a taxi each time you need to go from the resort you are staying at to Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, or if you have a car and are willing to drive, this would make staying at another resort more practical. In that case, you are not too far away from
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, which is an amazing resort where you can see exotic animals outside of nearly every window. There are tons of recreational activities at this resort, as well as multiple delicious dining options. This might be a good choice for your stay.
I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Rhonda. Have a wonderful time planning your magical vacation, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions!
