In July,2012, My brother, son and myself will be staying at a DVC resort. My question is what is the best and affordable way to purchase the dining plan and park tickets for 6 days? Thanks.

    Hi, Kim!

I called Walt Disney World Reservations just to be sure to give you the right information, and was told that if you have already booked your stay at a Walt Disney World Resort, you can call Reservations at (407) 939-6244 and ask them to book the Disney Dining Plan and your park tickets as well.  The trick here is that they'll have to to search for availability for your room, book this as a package, then cancel your other reservation.  If the resort isn't available, you won't be able to rebook that same room.  Because of that, I suggest that you contact them ASAP.  You can do this up to 48 hours prior to your check-in, but you do run the risk that your resort will not have the availability you're looking for at that point.

If, however, you haven't yet booked your room, you can book the room, the Dining Plan and your park passes all at the same time; just be sure to specify what you'd like either online or with a Cast Member at the above-mentioned phone number.  I like the ease of booking online, but it might be less complicated to do so via the telephone.  Only Walt Disney World can arrange your Disney Dining Plan, so you might as well add the tickets in, as well, to avoid any hassle you may have by purchasing your park passes in some other way.

Please send me more information, or more questions regarding your upcoming stay at Walt Disney World.  I'd love to help you make this the most magical vacation for you and your family!
