We are joining my grandson, a Make-A-Wish recipient, on a trip to the Disney parks. He and his parents will be provided with hopper, and Genie passes. We will buy our own tickets. How do we link them together so that we can board rides together?

    Hi Adriana!

Welcome to planDisney!  I'm so happy you stopped by so we can help you with your plans for what will surely be a very special trip for your family!  How wonderful that you're planning to join your grandson for a magical vacation!

Adriana, the first thing I would recommend doing is making sure that each adult that you are purchasing tickets for has their own My Disney Experience account.  It's helpful for each adult to have their own account so they can view all of their plans and access tickets and other services in the parks.  You can then link everyone together on a Family and Friends list.

The easiest way to do this is to open their My Disney Experience Mobile App, tap the "hamburger" (three lines) in the bottom right-hand corner, and then scroll down to select "My Profile."  From that screen, have them scroll to the bottom and tap "Show My Linking Code."  You can use your device to scan their linking code and connect your accounts.  Once you have purchased your park hopper tickets, you will want to make sure to assign them to you and your traveling party.  They can then use MagicBand+ or Disney MagicMobile service to enter the park as their ticket will be connected to their account!

Before your vacation begins, you will want to follow the process of connecting on a Family and Friends List with everyone in your larger travel party.  Each day of your trip, you'll be able to purchase Disney Genie+ service anytime after midnight so you are ready to make your first Lightning Lane entrance selections when they open at 7:00 AM.  As long as everyone in your party is linked through the Family and Friends list and you have allowed each other the ability to manage plans, one person should be able to reserve Lightning Lanes for everyone!

I'd also recommend taking a look at purchasing Memory Maker for your vacation.  This service will give you access to digital downloads of photos from rides and locations around the parks.  It also uses that same Family and Friends list so you'll not only have access to photos specific to you and your account, but also to those in your family (up to 25 people from your Family and Friends List).  Disney PhotoPass photographers are located around the parks and love capturing family photos so that everyone can be in the picture!

Adriana, I hope this information is helpful as you plan for a vacation to the Most Magical Place on Earth!  Please come back and see us again at planDisney with any other questions you have - we're all ears!

    See ya real soon,
