When joining the DVC, can you only book points at your home resort? If not, are the points more at other resorts?

    Hi, Lori!

    This is a great question!

Disney Vacation Club Members have the ability to use their Membership at all Disney Vacation Club Resorts, several additional properties in Walt Disney World, Disneyland Resort in California, Disney Cruise Line and additional Disney Destinations around the world. Plus, there are hundreds of additional resorts that can be booked throughout the world, too. This is flexibility at its finest, because you also know that your vacation membership will be in good hands.

One benefit of choosing to purchase DVC ownership at a favorite (or soon-to-be) resort is that you can book a stay there earlier than other DVC Members. Your Home Resort advantage entitles you to booking at exactly 11 months prior to check-in at your Home Resort. You can, however, book at 7 months prior to check in at all other DVC Resorts. In fact, you can book a Disney Cruise Line cruise using your Membership points up to two years in advance. When booking a stay that's not in our Home Resort, we have almost always gotten the stay that we wanted, too, and we tend to travel during Peak Season. Just call on the day that your booking window opens for the best chance to get the reservation of your dreams.

Points per night stay are the same for all Members, no matter what their Home Resort. We've learned that each DVC Resort holds a unique perk for specific needs. We love Treehouse Villas at Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa when we travel with another family with kids; Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort is perfect for July 4th Wishes or family with babes in strollers. Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas-Kidani Village is great for animal lovers, shorter stays and kids who LOVE to splash around in wet-play areas.

Send more questions about using a Disney Vacation Club Membership, Lori; I'd love to help you map out the fabulous perks that come with Membership.
