Janet from MD Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

We just joined DVC and are planning to go to Vero Beach this summer. Do I need to book dining ahead of time and how do I do that? Is there anything else I should book ahead of time?

Hey there, hi there, Janet! Welcome back to planDisney and let me offer you a warm Welcome Home, my new DVC neighbor! Congratulations on becoming a Member and thanks for stopping by with another great planning question.

Before you know it, you'll be arriving at Disney's Vero Beach Resort, ready to begin your relaxing and oh-so-fun magical adventure as a DVC Member! How exciting! Disney's Vero Beach Resort is one of my very favorite Disney Vacation Club Resorts, and with the gorgeous beach, awesome pool, fantastic dining options and a seemingly endless list of recreation offerings and Resort activities, you can relax as much or as little as you'd like. It's the beach ... but make it DISNEY. Now, let's tie up your loose planning ends so you can sit back, relax and start your countdown!

If you plan on dining at Wind & Waves Grill (and I definitely recommend that you do!), I suggest making Advance Dining Reservations to guarantee your spot at this delicious restaurant. Just visit the Open Table website to make your reservations. This summer, I snagged reservations for both breakfast and dinner at Wind & Waves, and I'm so glad that I did! For dinner, the Shrimp and Cheddar Grits were great, and for breakfast, the Key Lime Stuffed Mickey Waffles were to die for!

Planning a vacation at Disney's Vero Beach Resort is almost as relaxing as taking the vacation! Besides your dining reservations, you don't have to worry about a thing in advance. I do recommend that you stop by the front desk when you arrive to get a schedule of the week's activities, ask about any sea turtle activities (this was my favorite!) and check to see if there are any activities that you may want to sign up for. When I was there this summer, there were awesome themed Adult Beverage Experiences, so we quickly signed up for those upon arrival. You can also use your DVC discount to rent beach chairs and an umbrella, water sports equipment, bikes and more. Renting bikes to explore the Jungle Trail was one of my favorite activities, and I think you'll love it, too!

Janet, did you know that Online Check-in and the use of MagicBands are now available at Disney's Vero Beach Resort?! Just link your Resort reservation to your My Disney Experience account, and you can head straight to your room with a new MagicBand or an active MagicBand from a past Walt Disney World Resort vacation. I definitely recommend packing your MagicBand, as it makes it so easy to tap into your room, the pool area and beach access.

I hope this was helpful, Janet, and I hope you have the best time in this pixie-dusted paradise! I'm wishing you a lifetime of magical memories with your most magical Membership. Please stop by any time with any planning or DVC questions you may have. You've got a friend in planDisney!

    Blue skies and sunshine,

    Mandy
