Just joined Disney Vacation Club nervous and excited all at the same time. Can you please tell me more about the exchanges where we could maybe buy additional points if we don't want to borrow against a future year?? Looking forward to grand Floridian. Thk

    Hi Rose,

Let me be one of the first to say "Welcome home!" to Disney Vacation Club.  You have many years of wonderful vacation memories ahead of you.  I am also really excited for the opening of the Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa!

I believe that what you are describing are one-time-use Vacation Points.  Essentially, if you would like to make a Disney Vacation Club reservation but are a few Vacation Points short, you can purchase one-time-use Vacation Points for $15 per point, tax included (fee subject to change).  These Vacation Points can be used only once, and within the year that you buy them.  You can buy up to 24 one-time-use Vacation Points each year.  They are good for new reservations only, and cannot be banked, borrowed, or transferred.  They are non-refundable, and you must purchase them inside of a seven-month window before the vacation that you wish to take.  Please note that it is possible for availability of one-time use Vacation Points to be limited or suspended at certain times.

The great thing about one-time-use Vacation Points is that they can make the difference in adding another night to your stay.  I think they are a great option, especially if, as you mention, you do not want to borrow from your next use year.

There is great information about one-time use Vacation Points on page 108 of the 2013-2014 Vacation Planner.  If you decide to take advantage and purchase some one-time-use Vacation Points, you can do so by calling Disney Vacation Club Member Services at 1-800-800-9800 when you are ready to make your reservation.

I hope that this information helps, Rose.  I truly want you to not be nervous.  Please do not hesitate to come back and ask any further questions that you have about Disney Vacation Club!
