I would like to join family members on the Disney Wish sailing on August 8th. I can't get an exterior room or balcony, is there a way to go on a waitlist? I do not want to be in an inside room.

Ahoy there, Justin! Welcome aboard planDisney!

Ah, the Disney Wish. "The Castle on the Sea." "Ship Number Five." Whatever you call her, it's getting closer and closer to the time we'll finally see the latest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet set sail! I know I'm excited to climb aboard and experience all the exciting new spaces, dining rooms, activities, live entertainment, and more! I'm so glad you're looking to join your family on the August 8th itinerary!

That said, with the inaugural sailing season upon us, the entire season has been an incredibly popular ticket - and for good reason! I'm sorry you're not able to find your desired stateroom category. My fellow Disney Cruise Line panelist, Adrianna, sailed on over to chat with a crew member and came back with some good news and some potentially upsetting news. The good news is that there are waitlists for concierge-level staterooms! Nothing like setting the bar high on your first sailing on the newest ship, right? Especially since the non-suite staterooms are inspired by one of my favorite Disney films: Tangled!

The potentially upsetting news is that there are no waitlists for standard rooms. I wish I had better news to report, but it looks like if you'd like to sail on the August 8th sailing, my best suggestion would be to continue to check back frequently. It's possible that there are some fellow castaways in Oceanview or Verandah staterooms who are on the waitlist for a Concierge-level stateroom, so if one frees up and they rebook, that could mean one of the types you're searching for becomes available!

If it were me, and I wanted to make that sailing, I'd book an inside stateroom! I know it may not be everyone's first choice, but with so many incredible new areas to explore I'd anticipate very little time being spent inside your cabin except to sleep! And this is just my personal preference, but the times we've had inside rooms, I know I've slept better than nearly any other time on the ships! Plus, if you have a stateroom on your sailing, you'll have a spot on the ship while you look for Oceanview and Verandah staterooms, and change categories if they open up! Kinda like a waitlist when you think about it!

Well Justin, if only I could wave a magic wand like a fairy godparent and make your WISH come true, but hopefully you'll be able to make do with my planDrew-approved suggestions. Thank you so much for your question, and if any others bubble to the surface as you keep a weather eye on the horizon for staterooms, please drop us another line!

Until then, may your anchor be tight and your compass true!

    Andrew
