About to join DVC. Will book for Oct 2011 - 4 adults 3 kids. Should I buy a dining plan? Will want sit down most days, not all. Should I buy the AP? If I want to book dining reservations now, will I need my AP now? I want to wait until closer to travel.

Hi Sandra! Congratulations on your Disney Vacation Club (DVC) membership. Our family enjoys cooking on our vacations to Walt Disney World and staying at our DVC "Home", however, many families prefer to use the Disney Dining Plan. I think that you have to determine your desire to prepare meals and return to the Villa vs. remaining in the Parks to dine.

DVC members receive a discount on the purchase of the Annual Pass. It is a great investment if you plan to visit Walt Disney World Resort several times in a year.

You will not need your Annual Pass to make Advanced Dining Reservations, however, these reservations can only be made 180 days prior to your arrival for your Disney vacation.

    Have a Magical Vacation!
