Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, Tamer!
You are as welcome as can be here at planDisney. Thank you so much for visiting us with your question. How exciting that you are planning a vacation to the great wide somewhere on an
Adventures by Disney experience. My parents have gone on a few of these excursions, and they loved every minute of the magic!
Tamer, if you do not have enough Vacation Points to cover the entire cost of your Adventures by Disney trip, you can use a combination of
Vacation Points and Cash (you can use a credit card, but by "cash" they mean payment other than Points) to pay for an
Adventures by Disney vacation (as well as a Disney Cruise Line vacation). The one thing to note, however, is that at least one person's entire reservation cost must be paid for using Vacation Points, and the other(s) in the traveling party can be paid for with Cash. You just can't split one person's reservation fee with Points and Cash. We did this for our last Disney Cruise Line cruise. We used our Vacation Points to pay for my son, and then we paid for the rest of us with a combination of Cash and a Disney Gift Card.
To do this, you would need to make the booking through
Member Services. They will be able to assist you with converting your Disney Vacation Club Points into Reservation Points, applying those, and then they can take your payment for the remainder. There is typically a non-refundable $95 fee (subject to change) for this transaction at the time of booking.
Now, if you are just shy of having enough Vacation Points, eligible Members can purchase up to 24
"one-time use"Vacation Points per Use Year. A Member may purchase one-time-use Vacation Points for Disney Collection and World Collection reservations, provided the booking window for that trip is open. If you would like to do this, you can call Member Services to make this purchase. However, if you need a lot more Vacation Points than this, I would recommend the Vacation Points and Cash option.
I hope this helps you, Tamer, and you enjoy the vacation of your dreams! If you have any further Disney Vacation Club questions, soar back here to see me, and I'll be so happy to help you.
Have fun making magical memories!
Keri
