Hi Kelsey! Welcome to planDisney. Let's get you all set for your journey back in time with the galaxy's favorite guardians.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is one of the best and most popular rides at the
Walt Disney World Resort, not just
EPCOT. It's one of the world's largest indoor rollercoasters and features a pretty amazing reverse launch. I usually refer to it as "a party in a ride" because that's exactly what it feels like!
The
Virtual Queue for this attraction is currently only available for Guests who have a
Theme Park Reservation for EPCOT. If you obtain a Boarding Group through the Virtual Queue in the morning and then cancel your EPCOT Theme Park Reservation, your spot in the Virtual Queue will also be canceled.
If you are aiming to ride Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind later in the day, I would suggest looking into purchasing an
Individual Lightning Lane for that ride. With this option, you get to choose your return time (subject to availability). This means you'll likely be able to choose a return time that is later in the day. You do not need a Theme Park Reservation for EPCOT to purchase an Individual Lightning Lane for this ride, just a
theme park ticket with the
Park Hopper Option. If you are staying at a
Disney Resorts Collection Hotel, you'll be able to book your Individual Lightning Lane at 7 a.m. All other Guests can book once EPCOT opens for the day.
If you love this rollercoaster, you'll get a kick out of
TRON Lightcycle / Run Presented by Enterprise at
Magic Kingdom Park. Currently, this also uses the Virtual Queue system and has Individual Lightning Lanes available to purchase. If you have a ticket with the Park Hopper Option, you could make a Theme Park Reservation for Magic Kingdom Park, purchase an Individual Lightning Lane for TRON in the morning, and purchase an Individual Lightning Lane for Cosmic Rewind in the afternoon or evening. Talk about a day full of thrills!
Kelsey, no matter how you decide to experience this attraction, you're going to have a great time saving the galaxy! Feel free to
reach out again if you have any other questions.
I am Groot,
Matt
