Hello, Duncan! Welcome to planDisney! It's always great to meet a fellow
runDisney enthusiast! I started participating in
runDisney events 15 years ago, and I've completed more than two dozen. I'd say the full marathon remains my most memorable race. 26.2 miles is such a long way, but running through all four
Walt Disney World Resort theme parks makes it much more bearable!
Unfortunately,
Club runDisney memberships are limited to U.S. residents at this time. Even if you could swing a quick relocation to the States, all 2026 memberships are currently sold out, so it wouldn't help you with your goal. Don't dismay, Duncan! I feel good about your chances of securing a spot in the 2027 Walt Disney World marathon, and I have some tips:
- Verify that your account information is up-to-date. From the runDisney website, hover over "Help & Support" in the upper right portion of the page, then click on "Manage Account." From there, click on your name in the top right corner, and then "Manage My Disney Account." Verify your information and click "Done."
- Do a practice run. Registration for the 2026 Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend opens Tuesday, February 10, at 10 am, which is thankfully, in the afternoon for you. Go through the steps for registering for a race that has available spots, but stop short of entering payment information and completing the process. This will help you know what to expect on March 17, when registration for the 2027 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend opens to the general public.
- Have everything ready. If you are registering for someone else, be sure to have all of their information. Keep your credit card nearby, or better yet, have it saved to your device.
- Don't panic! Historically, it has taken well over an hour for the full marathon to sell out. Of course, there are no guarantees, but don't get so worked up that you make a crucial mistake. You can do this.
The only thing left to do is the training! That part can be less stressful than registration day! A full marathon is a big deal, Duncan. I'm not sure if it will be your first, but they say you are a different person when you finish than when you started, and I believe it. Once you cross that finish line, you'll know what has always been true: You can accomplish anything you put your mind to.
While you may be disappointed about Club
runDisney, I hope my tips turn out to be helpful. Please
let me know how it goes! And if there's anything else we can help you with, please come back and see us at
planDisney!
Always Dreaming -
