Joel - I see that the park openings get a lot of good feedback..can you describe them please? And, for MK, if it opens at 10am when we are there in May, what time would the bus leave PC and what time does the opening start? Where would we stand, etc Thx

Park opening is where the party's at, Eileen! There's no better way to start the day (assuming that a shower and throwing on a pair of capris/manpris precedes it.)

You may ask, "Why is park opening so hip, Joel?" And to you, Eileen, I say this: (1) there's some element of entertainment and (2) you're one of the first people in the park to enjoy attractions.
    • Magic Kingdom Welcome. About 15 minutes prior to park opening. Singing and dancing from the train station. Mickey and Co. bring it home. VERY cool.
    • Animal Kingdom - the Adventure Begins. About 10 minutes prior to park opening. Mickey & Co. arrive on a sweet ride to welcome you to the park.
    • Hollywood Studios - Tinseltown Talent Search. Streetmosphere show performed by Citizens of Hollywood on Hollywood Boulevard 15 minutes prior to rope drop and little after rope drop.
    • Epcot. The turnstiles will open about 15 minutes prior to park opening. You'll proceed to the Innoventions area, see Mickey & Co. and possibly get selected for more magic. The rope drops from there at the listed park opening time.
To hit park openings, line up for you bus at Pop Century more than an hour prior to park opening. When you arrive, get as close as you can to the ropes.

One more thing: double check the park opening time for MK on that specific day in May. I checked the park hours and 9:00 a.m. is the latest the park opens in May.
