Hi Joel, love all your answers. DH & I love WDW & have visited a lot, including our honeymoon. Going this year w/ our DD for her 1st trip but it's also my hubby's birthday. Besides a cake, any suggestions for a good surprise for him on a budget?

Hey, Christine! Thanks for the props. Sounds like you got a keeper. So let's hook your hubby up proper.

I'm pretty thrifty (my friends would call me "cheap,") so you've come to the right place.

Sure, you could get a birthday button and aforementioned cake, but there are also some other affordable, less traditional libations that I would offer up for consideration. Here are six options for you to mull over:
    • Ask the staff at Cava del Tequila at Epcot to sing "Feliz Compleaños" and bring out a tequila flight instead of cake (or, er, flan?)
    • Get him a quality haircut at Harmony Barber Shop on Main Street (call 407-WDW-DINE to make a reservation.) Keep an eye out for the Dapper Dans and request they sing "Happy Birthday."
    • Enjoy a Kitchen Sink at Beaches & Cream (the whole family can get in on this action.)
    • Show him how much you love him by going out of your way for quality coffee. Top stops include Kona Island at the Polynesian, Contemporary Grounds at the Contemporary, Writers Stop in Hollywood Studios and the coffee stand in front of Epcot.
    • Take the Behind the Seeds tour at Epcot. It's a great tour, it's a minimal time commitment and it's one of the most affordable tours out there ($18/adult.) Plus, you can bring your daughter on it too.
    • Nothing says "I love you" like a Dole-Whip from Aloha Isle (at Magic Kingdom) or Captain Cooks (at the Polynesian.) If you go the Captain Cooks route, enjoy your Dole-Whips on the beach while you watch Wishes to end his special day.
