Hi Jodi! stayn at AKL 8/16-23 myw-dining wid 9 n 4 y.o kids. plans 1 park/day no hopper. is it feasible to go back to hotel midday 4 kids to rest w/o wasting time on transpo? should we rent a car? want to make the most of the day/trip. pls. advise, tnx !

Hello!  As you may know, my family absolutely loves the Animal Kingdom Lodge.  When we stay there, we always go back to the room for naps, and haven't really been bothered by the amount of time it takes to get back and forth on the buses.

That being said, you will be spending some time on the buses.  I'm not sure a car would really save you loads of time, because when you drive, you have to park in the parking lots which are pretty far from the entrance.  The buses, however, drop you off and pick you up right by the entrances to the parks.

Unless you need the car for another reason, I'd recommend that you skip it.

I hope that helps!  Have a great vacation!
