My job is relocating me to Fla. for 6 months, my family and I will be staying with my brother during that time, I plan on opening a bank account while I'm down there, would that be good enough to show Florida residency?

Hi, Jeffrey! Welcome to planDisney, and a big old welcome to the Sunshine State!

Getting to spend six months here in Florida is so cool. I bet your family was as bouncy as Tigger when they heard the news! And of course, you absolutely have to visit Walt Disney World as often as you can while you're here, so let's help you get those tickets!

Okay, since you're planning to open a bank account, that will be a big help. According to Disney's Florida residency verification requirements, "mail from financial institutions, including checking, savings or investment account statements" are sufficient proof of Florida residency. And just like that, you're a Floridian!

Jeffrey, be sure to take a look at the other special offers and discounts you may be eligible for as a Florida resident. We love to pop over to Walt Disney World for a weekend stay now and then when there are special rates on Disney Resorts Collection hotels (which is pretty often!). Even when you live here, it's still so much fun to stay in the middle of the magic!

I hope this helps you make the most of your Disney days, Jeffrey. Enjoy your stay here in my home state, and please come see us again if you have any more questions!

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

    Kathy K.

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
