hi Jo Heather again would you recommend car hire? we're travelling in aug with a 1 yr old and 7 yr old and we're staying in port orleans. I'm thinking heat, crowds, queues...we get free transfers from sanford or free car!!

    Hi again Heather,

When we visit Disney World we always use the free Disney transport and have found it to be absolutely fine, the buses run about every 20 minutes and more frequently during busy times. The buses also take you close to the park entrance whereas if you drive you will probably then need to catch a tram to the entrance. All the buses allow buggies on but they will need to be collapsed. We like the fact that we don't have to worry about where we're going or argue over the directions whilst we're on holiday!

If the car hire is completely free (including insurance) then actually it may be wise to have a car, just to use to go shopping etc but if you have to pay extra take the free transfer and use a taxi, or as I did last year just hire a car for a day. It was very cheap about £20 for the day including the petrol! I'm not sure if I really helped answer your question there, sorry!

Here are a few tips for you to help beat those crowds and the heat. Make sure you get to the parks for when they open, avoid parks with extra magic hours, get Fast Passes as soon as you can, return for a swim/nap early afternoon and drink lots of water, you can get free iced water at all counter service restaurants and most of all enjoy!

    Have a fantastic holiday,
