Jambo, Amanda! Welcome to planDisney.
My family is trying to choose our Disney Resorts Collection hotel for next year's spring break, and my husband and I are making a strong push for a stay at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. I stayed there with a dear friend a couple of years ago, and I have to tell you: sitting on our balcony, sipping coffee, and watching the giraffes roam the savanna was unforgettable.
Jiko - Wanyama Safari is a bucket list item for me. I have been on a few private tours at Walt Disney World Resort, and while it's awesome to have special access to locations and experiences that not every Guest gets to see, my favorite part is always interacting with Cast Members. The design and background of Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge are fascinating, and I'm sure the Cast Members have so many great stories about the animals that call it home. The safari adventure plus a mouthwatering dinner at
Jiko - The Cooking Place sounds like pure Disney magic to me.
Unfortunately, at this time, several tours and special dining events remain unavailable as part of the phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort, and Jiko - Wanyama Safari has not returned. I recommend keeping an eye on the
Enchanting Extras Collection: Know Before You Go information and the
Disney Parks Blog for the most up-to-date news and any announcements.
Amanda, we got some great news earlier this week:
Boma - Flavors of Africa is reopening on Friday, August 20, 2021! This is one of my favorite spots to have breakfast, and I hear that iconic Zebra Domes will be available on the dessert buffet. I highly recommend a trip to Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge to explore their gorgeous collection of African art, take in some Savanna views from the lobby, and have a fabulous meal at either Boma or
Sanaa. Yum!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney. I'm sending pixie-dusted wishes that the special Jiko - Wanyama Safari experience reopens soon. In the meantime, please come back and see us if we can help with any further questions.
Wishing you much magic,
Robyn
