Hiya, Christina!
Thanks so much for planning Disney at planDisney. Traveling to Walt Disney World Resort from the west coast has its advantages, especially when it comes to viewing nighttime spectaculars.
Happily Ever After at Magic Kingdom Park is showing
nightly at 9:00 p.m. during your April visit, which will feel like pre-dinner entertainment as you adjust to your new time zone.
Magical minds think alike, Christina. News that
Narcoossee's at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa was
reopening in time for my family's April visit immediately led to visions of a magical date night for me and my husband. I adore my kids, but I also enjoy dinner reservations after 7:00 p.m., uninterrupted conversations with my husband, and being able to focus on my own food before it gets cold. If the wish your heart makes is for a similar adults-only experience, I know a way to grant that wish.
The Children's Activity Centers at Walt Disney World Resort have all closed with no signs of reopening anytime soon; however, there is a babysitting service that will come right to your
Disney Resort hotel room. Kid's Nite Out offers care for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. Caregivers are experienced, well-trained, and have completed a background check. They even come with their own age-appropriate activities. You can book their services up to three months in advance, though at least one month in advance is recommended. Caregivers are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, which could technically cover a spa day and a date night! One of my panelist pals,
Leslie, has used this company multiple times and has nothing but excellent things to say about the care her children received.
In addition to fine dining and spa services, other adults-only experiences I highly recommend at Walt Disney World Resort are
Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour (valid admission and a theme park reservation for Magic Kingdom Park required) and
La Cava Experience (valid admission and a theme park reservation for EPCOT required). These
Enchanting Extras Collection experiences offer unique kinds of pixie dust; I learned many interesting facts from my Keys to the Kingdom tour guide as well as my certified Tequila Ambassador.
I laugh when people ask, "Isn't Disney just for kids?" My response? "Adults are just grown-up kids." I hope you find a time and place to celebrate this magical stage of life with the grown-up kids in your party.
You've got a friend in planDisney, Christina, and your panelist pals hope to see ya real soon.
Choose magic,
Jennifer
