Bright suns, Christy and welcome to planDisney!
Looking back, it certainly feels like my days of
helping to train younglings in the ways of wielding an elegant weapon for a more civilized age are but a distant memory from a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. From the sounds of it, you must have been one of the many who felt a disturbance in the force when the
former experience called Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple was no longer being offered a few years ago.
Unfortunately, Jedi Training has not currently returned to
Disney's Hollywood Studios and at the present time, it appears that there are no plans for it to return soon. It does make me curious about what will be done with the space that it previously occupied in front of
Star Tours - The Adventures Continue and whether
a new entertainment offering may take its place in a different form.
Fellow force-users have found ways to to enjoy other lightsaber experiences, especially at
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. There's really nothing like
putting together your own lightsaber from scraps salvaged by the mysterious Gatherers at Savi's Workshop on the planet Batuu, and some fortunate folks may be able to wield them
aboard the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser and train alongside the Saja before the Halcyon makes her final voyage in 2023. Speaking of voyages, folks on specially-themed
Star Wars Day at Sea sailings with Disney Cruise Line have been able to witness Jedi Training Academy sessions, and you might even see a demonstration at Star Wars Celebrations around the world. For now,
we can look back on what once was such a special moment for many young Padawans and hope for some new yet similar Star Wars-themed experiences in the years ahead!
I recommend keeping an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for any official announcements in the event that we may see more Jedi being trained once again in the future! Come back to planDisney to seek more knowledge and
ask me any more questions you may have - intergalactic or otherwise!
May the force be with you always,
Prince
