Bright Suns Guadalupe!
I'd like to offer you a warm greeting to planDisney before you embark on a journey that will take you to a galaxy far, far away during your day at
Disney's Hollywood Studios! My boys love immersing themselves in the stories and adventures of Star Wars when we visit and my oldest was able to participate in Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple a few times. Unfortunately, this experience has not returned to Hollywood Studios and I haven't heard any information about it returning in the future. However, the creative Imagineers behind
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge designed several other opportunities that I bet your children will enjoy.
Our first stop before we even enter Batuu is to visit the gift shop at the end of
Star Tours - The Adventures Continue. This shop is called
Tatooine Traders and offers an alternative to
Savi's Workshop which we find perfect for our young padawans. Here guests can build plastic lightsabers by choosing colors and components from a wide selection. The plastic lightsabers are also collapsible which makes them easy to carry throughout the day.
Once you enter Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, there is even more to explore. Our favorite ride was
Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run. I think one of the reasons my boys liked it so much was because it felt a lot like a video game. My then seven-year-old piloted our mission and I'm still not sure if my stomach has recovered from his driving skills! We also took the opportunity to build droids at
Droid Depot. Not only did they get to design their new friends, but they also enjoyed watching them interact with other droids and their surroundings around Batuu. There's a recent reel over on the
planDisney Instagram page which gives you a sneak peek at this experience! Your little ones will also love interacting with all of the characters roaming around Black Spire Outpost. There were a few Stormtroopers that tried to recruit us to the Dark Side and we also had a chance to see Kylo Ren, Chewbacca, and Rey. Don't forget you can also visit
Star Wars Launch Bay in Animation Courtyard for character meet and greets!
While visiting, don't miss some of the great food options as well. Our personal favorite is to
mobile order lunch from
Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo. They have an exciting menu that blends some familiar favorites with a few unique twists! You can also try to grab a reservation at
Oga's Cantina where my boys enjoyed sipping on mocktails in this lively locale!
Guadalupe, I hope you enjoy a wonderful visit to Hollywood Studios and invite you to stop back by planDisney again with any other vacation planning questions in the future!
Till the Spire!
