Ahoy, Kathleen!
Thank you for cruising by the Disney Parks Moms Panel and sending in a question. Planning outfits for yourself and your family is a task, and you'll be glad to know that Disney Cruise Line does indeed consider jeans as cruise casual attire. While on your voyage, cruise casual will be the usual suggested attire in the evenings, which means jeans, shorts, capri pants and khakis are allowed in the main dining areas (no tank tops and swimwear).
There are themed evenings and you are encouraged to join in on the fun - so don't forget to bring your Pirate gear to enjoy the
Pirates IN the Caribbean theme night. For the optional formal or dress up night, you'll see guests in varying outfits... some can be all glammed up for the evenings, and some may be a bit more toned down and dress closer to cruise casual. Guests can take advantage of the optional dress up night to take their family cruise photos in the evenings. The Disney professional photographers will usually setup their Disney Cruise signature backgrounds in the lobby atrium and taking your family photos then, would make a great memento of your cruise. But don't let that limit you - you'll likely have lots of magical moments caught on videos and photos with your family throughout your voyage.
If you plan to dine at
Palo or Remy, the adult-exclusive restaurants onboard, a dressier attire for men and women will be strictly enforced.
I hope this helps, Kathleen. Wishing you a magical voyage!
Happy planning,
~ Dolly
