Jason we are heading to Disney World in March and are debating if we should use a FastPass for Wishes or Illuninations. Are fast passes for fireworks worth it or should we stick to the rides.

    Hey, Josh!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. The fireworks showcases at Walt Disney World Resort theme parks are a highlight of my trips to the place "where dreams come true." It's almost as though Tinker Bell contacts thousands of her fairy friends to dazzle Guests with extra doses of pixie dust.

In my opinion, FastPass+ reservations are best used for attractions because there are so many great places to stand and watch the beautiful Wishes nighttime spectacular and IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth aerial shows. Also, if you make a FastPass+ reservation for these evening activities you may not have the option of acquiring additional FastPass+ reservations (one-at-a-time on a rolling basis) until you have used your Illuminations or Wishes FastPass+ reservation. By this time at night, there will be few if any FastPass+ reservations remaining.

For Wishes nighttime spectacular, standing anywhere in front of Cinderella Castle is perfect. I especially love being in front of the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor. You should arrive about 30 minutes before the show.

For Illuminations: Reflections of Earth, I love watching fireworks from The World Showcase specifically in one of these areas: main entrance of the World Showcase directly across from the American Adventures Pavilion, the bridge between the United Kingdom and France Pavilions, along the World Showcase Lagoon from the Mexico to Norway Pavilions and finally the Italy Pavilion. Prime viewing is best if you arrive 30-40 minutes before the show.

Disney Dad Tip: If you like fireworks and Star Wars then don't miss Disney's Hollywood Studios' Symphony in the Stars: A Galactic Spectacular.

Josh, enjoy making many Magical Memories!
