This January 2010, I will be visiting WDW with my 4 yr old dd and 2 yr old ds. Unlike my first trip to WDW, I'd like to do some advanced planning this time! How far in advance do I need to book activities like character meals and shows? Thanks!

    Hi Carol!

It's great that you are beginning to plan your next vacation to WDW! All of us on the Moms Panel are big planners so you've come to right place. In fact, many of us might say that planning is half the fun!

I would suggest making your dining reservations for character meals and dinner shows as early as possible which is 90 days from the first day of your vacation. If you book your meals this far in advance you will find the greatest availability for your vacation date. Believe it or not, some of the more popular character meals like Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace and especially Cinderella's Royal Table completely book up as far as three months in advance.

If you are planning a vacation in January, your 90 day mark will probably fall sometime in October. To find out exactly when your 90 day window you can visit the website http://www.pscalculator.net/ and input the first day of your vacation.

Good luck and have fun planning your vacation!
