In January we will be staying at the Disneyland Hotel for the 1st time. But we love Storytellers Cafe in the Grand Californian and plan to eat breakfast there once. Is there an easy way to walk outside security from Disneyland Hotel to Grand Californian?

Season's Greetings, Kathryn! Welcome to planDisney.

I'm so excited for your upcoming stay at the Disneyland Hotel! It's nostalgic, has magical accommodations, and features delicious dining options. Did you know you can get a DOLE Whip poolside or at Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill? You will also love its proximity to the Disneyland Monorail and the Downtown Disney District.

Being only steps away from Downtown Disney when you are staying at the Disneyland Hotel will give you access to an entrance to Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. It's located next to Sephora. This is the route I recommend taking for a reservation at Storytellers Cafe.

However, if you want to avoid walking through Downtown Disney, you could also walk to the restaurant by walking east toward the Pixar Place Hotel. Walk down Paradise Way towards the roundabout. Continue straight, passing the parking lot on your left. Then, cross Disneyland Drive to reach Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. After crossing the street, you'll walk into the lobby of the hotel. That's it!

Kathryn, I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to visit us again. I wish you the happiest stay!

    Your Pal,

Hola from California! I am a lifelong Disney fan, wife, and mamá. I planned my first Disney vacation at thirteen and have not stopped since! Being a Californian, I have had the privilege of visiting Disneyland Resort my whole life. It is my happy place and feels like home. And now that we are parents, my husband and I especially love vacationing at Disney with our son. I am excited to help you plan your next vacation in both English and Spanish!
