Hi Thomas! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
How exciting that you are planning your January trip to the Walt Disney World Resort! I have visited in January and I must say, I really enjoyed that time of year.
Weather can vary when vacationing in January. It can be pleasantly warm enough for shorts and T-shirts, or it can be a little on the chilly side, requiring jeans and a jacket. I suggest packing for a range of weather, and when in doubt, wear layers! Even on days that are on the warmer side, I try to remember to take a jacket with me to the theme parks, in case of a cooler evening.
Crowds are typically on the lower side in January, once you get past the Christmas and New Year holidays. You may experience some heavier crowds during the
Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, however. Next year, this race weekend takes place January 9-13. Another event that may increase the amount of people in Epcot is the
Epcot International Festival of the Arts. Though the exact dates for next year's event have not been released, this year it began January 12 and continued until February 19. If this festival is taking place during your visit, you do NOT want to miss it! It is quickly becoming a favorite event of Guests, thanks to delicious eats, beautiful displays and interactive experiences.
Keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog to find out about other exciting happenings during your visit. I know you will have an excellent trip!
