When will the January 2023 calendar open for regular bookings?

Hey Howdy Hey Melissa and welcome to planDisney!

Planning and Walt Disney World Resort go hand-in-hand here at planDisney and I love that you are getting a great jump start on your trip at the end of this year!  I love that initial first step of deciding where we will be staying and getting that booked as soon as we can to start planning our approach for the parks as well as dining reservations. When planning a trip to Walt Disney World this far out, you have some very general dates and time frames to keep in mind when booking your trip, so let's dig in and see what we can come up with.

For starters, you can book a trip to Walt Disney World Resort up to 499 days out, however the first half of the year you would need to call Disney at (407) 939-1936 and speak to a Cast Member about booking your resort. Usually, this far out, you most likely will only have access to room-only bookings when you call to book your resort, but they can be changed to packages once they are made available. When booking online, Disney usually releases the following year and packages in the early summer months, May to late June-ish, so you can call to book the room-only reservation and then transfer it over to a package including tickets and such when these are released at that time.

One pro tip that I would highly encourage you to do, is to keep an eye out for any special offers. If you happen to see a special offer that applies to your travel situation, you can call Disney at the number listed above and speak to a Cast Member about applying this discount to your trip. You also might have the option of taking care of this yourself on your My Disney Experience account. Under the "My Plans, Reservations and Tickets" section, on the far right, you should see an option to "Start Check-in" and under that to "Change Reservation". Click on the "Change Reservation" link and you will see options to see if your reservation applies to the special offer. This option is not always available, and if not, you will see a phone number to call to speak with a Cast Member to navigate you through this process.

Good luck with your continued planning for your trip to Walt Disney World. We cannot wait to welcome you to the Vacation Kingdom of the World! Let us know if you have any further questions, we love talking about all things Disney!

    Happy planning,
