Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Chaille!
The force is strong with you for reaching out to us for advice. Thank you so much for sending in your excellent question.
Based on the information you've provided about your magical family, I would probably opt for Disney's Animal Kingdom Park with your boys over Hollywood Studios. If you take out the Star Wars activities available that won't really hold their interests, it leaves one attraction: Star Tours - The Adventure Continues, and Star Wars Launch Bay (Character greetings). If you choose Animal Kingdom, there will be plenty more for them to experience, so much of it hands-on, and in my opinion will be a better value for your theme park day budget.
At Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, the natural world comes to life! Your boys' age range is the perfect time to expose them to all this "wild" park has to offer. When my youngest child was seven, we spent a whole day running around the park so she could participate in the
Wilderness Explorer program. She felt so accomplished earning her "badges" at each stop - and she had her Wilderness Explorer Guide Book to bring home as a souvenir. This program is free for kids of all ages and so much fun to complete the challenges. Plus, you can take them into
Pandora - The World of Avatar, Animal Kingdom's newest, out-of-this-world area. They be awe-inspired by the Floating Mountains and the interactive Na'vi Drum Circle.
I hope this is helpful in your planning, Chaille! Please let me know if you should have any additional questions. I'm here to help you plan a far-out vacation for your boys.
