Jan 7to10. We are disney nuts (family of six) This time, my wife is running the half marathon and secretly I am worried that my wife and I will not know what to do without the kiddies. I realize any age can have a blast. First time alone! any advice?

Okay Darren, to quote Peter Pan.."HERE WE GO!"   I've been married 17 years and have never gone to Disney with just my husband.  That being said, it doesn't mean I haven't already planned it for the second we have our first opportunity!  You can take her on a horse drawn carriage ride or even a private cruise to watch the fireworks at Magic Kingdom or Epcot.  These can be booked by calling 1-407-WDW-PLAY.

If a romantic dinner is more your style, there are so many options to choose from.  My favorite is Victoria and Albert's at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.  It is very pricey, but I can guarantee that you and she will never forget it.  California Grill is wonderful too because you can watch the fireworks at Magic Kingdom from their outdoor observatory if you don't get a window seat.  Please call 1-407-WDW-DINE and take some time to speak to a representative.  They are very helpful (and usually very on target) with their suggestions.

Now, if price is an issue....don't worry about it!  You can get one of Disney's many PhotoPass photographers to take your picture in front of Cinderella Castle or any other sentimental spot in any park.  Take her for a walk on the beach at the Polynesian Resort.  Just time it to coincide with the fireworks.  She'll never forget that!

One last tip...you can make a call to 1-407-WDW-GIFT to get some great ideas for decorating your room or ordering flowers and champagne.

Have a wonderful time dating your wife again!

Magic Kingdom still takes my breath away, but my favorite place to be is on a Disney ship looking at the horizon and breathing in that crisp, clean ocean air!  I love planning Disney vacations for others and making sure it's more than they dreamed. Learn More About Marisol
