Hello Jackie, With the regular dining plan, you get a refillable mug. Can the mug be refilled only at the resort at which you are staying, or can you refill it (at no charge) at the theme parks? Thanks, 15 days til WDW! Who Dat!!

    Hi Ed!

Well, we had one devastating game last night, but I still love my Saints!  The refillable drink mugs are fantastic and they have recently gone through some big changes.  The cups are designed solely for use by the guest at the resort that they are staying in and only for the length of that particular vacation.  They were not intended to be used at the theme parks or to be brought back over the years.  Of course, some folks either weren't aware of the rules or just chose to ignore them, but mug "cheating" was rampant.  Enter new technology!

All refillable mugs have now been embedded with a microchip - yes a microchip!  It will only allow you to get drinks from your resort (pool locations included!) and will only activate the drink machines for your length of stay.  If you are interested, you can read all about the new system at Disneyfoodblog.com/2011/07/13/news-disney-world-refillable-mug-system-experiment/.  (Sorry, I can't provide a direct link!) The good news is that you will still bring them home as souvenirs - I am drinking iced tea out mine right now!  I love that all of the Disney Dining Plans now include the mug - seems like a no brainer.  Hope that your new countdown clock is working - till we chat again!

    Much pixie dust,
