HI Jackie, What is a good time to eat dinner at the California Grill in order to see the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom? Thanks.

    Hi there, Diane!

Eating dinner at the California Grill just in time to see Wishes is one of my very favorite things to do at Walt Disney World! In fact, it was the first restaurant I ever dined at on my very first trip there…brings back such magical memories.

The first thing you want to do is have a look at the Magic Kingdom calendar on the day you're thinking about. You can see when fireworks are scheduled that evening. I would make my dinner reservation about an hour before the fireworks. You can really afford to be a little flexible on your time though. We have had reservations about fifteen minutes before the start of the show and it worked out just fine as well. Please note that you are not rushed at all during your meal and most people actually leave their table to go out and watch from one of the two outside decks. It's a truly magical experience and I know you will really enjoy seeing the fireworks from a different angle! They also have the music piped in so you'll be able to hear that too! Also, reservations are taken 180 days in advance and the restaurant does fill up quickly due to its popularity so you'll want to make those as soon as you decide on a time. Dining reservations can be made online or by calling 407.WDW.DINE or 407.939.3463.

Please come back and see us if we can help with any more questions!

Wishing you Pixie Dusted vacation planning!
