    Hi Jackie, If I do resort, tickets and DP for $4000 for an example and the free dining plan comes out will I get the difference back or would they use it as a credit for WDW. So if the DP is $1000 that would be what I would get credit/refund for?

    Hey Teresa!  Thanks for visiting me here on the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  You must know I love the Disney Dining Plan.  It is a great way to save money while at Walt Disney World. 

    If you go ahead and book your Walt Disney World vacation package now and the free dining promotion becomes available, you absolutely can upgrade your package.  What actually happens is the Cast Member on the phone will release your previous booking and rebook your vacation using the new Dining Promotion.  If you have not paid your vacation in full, you will receive a new updated grand total.  If you have paid your vacation in full, you will be issued a full refund for the first booking and then be charged for the new vacation package.  When the refund is issued, it will take a few days to process in your bank account.  Keep that in mind if you are turning around and paying for your new package on the spot.  Also please note, there are only a limited number of rooms and resorts reserved for the Free Dining Promotion.  To make it work, you may have to change some details about your reservation which I think is worth it for the Free Dining.  The process of changing your reservation may seem complicated but you are in good hands with the Cast Members.  They do this all time and it's no big deal. 

    I am right along side of you hoping the Free Dining Promotion will be announced soon.  Fingers crossed!

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
