Hi Sharon!
I'm so glad that you liked my "girly girl" advice to your earlier question - those are always so much fun to answer! I had a wonderful stay a couple of months ago at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, but I must say that I was a teeny tiny bit disappointed. We had a savannah view, but we usually saw more dirt than animals! Also, the counter service area felt very dark to me and was a little limited in their selection. The resort is huge and traveling to and from our room was sometimes an adventure in itself! Please don't get me wrong, we really did love our stay, I am just being super picky. On the other hand, the Wilderness Lodge is one of our favorites and I highly recommend it! The theming is amazing and its proximity to the Magic Kingdom is great. Due to its many levels, all rooms are just a short elevator away from the lobby, pool and food court area. I truly believe that your boys would be thrilled with either choice, but I would pick the Wilderness Lodge.
Unless you plan on visiting sites outside of Disney World, I see no need to rent a car. Disney transportation is great and we use it regardless of whether we have flown or driven to Disney World! You just can't beat the convenience of being picked up and dropped off directly in front of the theme parks or your resort. As far as the stroller is concerned, I consider it a MUST HAVE!!!! Your sit and stand model sounds ideal for your boys, as even my 10 year old gets pooped out. If you would rather rent one, I suggest using a company such as
Orlando Stroller Rentals, rather than renting them in the parks. Not only are the prices better, but you are able to use them 24 hours a day!
I would love to hear from you again! Also, be sure and let your boys know that my boys would love to give them some advice as well!
Much pixie dust,
Jackie S.
