hi Jackie, Can you give more info on PO fishing? Hours of operation? Ect. we will be there in June and my son 8 would love to try fishing . Thank you! We are staying at AKL.

    Hi, Anne!

Thanks so much for sending me your question!

Dockside fishing at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside is definitely a fun way to have a kick-back kind of day. Located behind the Muddy Rivers pool bar at Ol’ Man Island, the Fishin’ Hole offers catch and release cane pole fishing that your son is sure to enjoy. The pond is stocked with bass, bluegill and catfish and is open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Please note that all fishing at Walt Disney World Resort is catch-and-release only. There is a minimal fee for renting the cane poles. Last time I checked, it was less than $9 for the day. Hours and pricing are always subject to change at any time.

If you will be using Disney transportation during your vacation, the best way to travel from Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge would be to take a bus to Magic Kingdom Park and then transfer to a bus heading to Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside. The buses don't actually travel from one Resort to another. In fact, you can actually just hop on the first bus that comes if you'd like to have a little adventure!

I sure hope you have a fantastic time fishing at Walt Disney World! Please let us know if you think of any other questions as you're making your plans!

    Have a Pixie Dusted vacation!
