Hey Annemarie! It's great to see you back on planDisney! We've been missing you and we're thrilled that you're sending us more awesome questions. Although I'm married with two little ones, I've had the pleasure of visiting Disney World solo multiple times, and I think it's a fantastic experience that you're going to absolutely love.
The best thing about the
Walt Disney World Resort is that each person gets to experience it in their own unique way, so no two trips are ever the same. While we don't have any set itineraries for solo travelers, I have a ton of tips and tricks up my sleeve that I'd love to share with you. The secret sauce of a solo trip is that you get to be in charge and take everything at your own pace.
Personally, I like to kick off my day with a coffe from Joffrey's before heading straight to my first ride of the day. After a few thrilling attractions, including my favorites:
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance,
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and
TRON Lightcycle / Run, I like to head back to my Disney Resorts Collection hotel and take a dip in the pool to cool off from the Florida sun. Once I'm feeling refreshed, it's time to hit up Disney Springs for some shopping, grab a classic Cheeseburger at
D-Luxe Burger, sink my teeth into a heavenly cookie from
Gideon's Bakehouse, and maybe even catch a movie or attend
Drawn to Life Presented by Cirque du Soleil & Disney, a stunning collaboration celebrating the art of Disney animation. It's the perfect way to cap off an amazing day.
Remember to take advantage of the complimentary transportation options available. They're super convenient, fast, and fun! You can hop on the monorail, catch a bus, sail on a boat, or soar through the skies with the
Disney Skyliner to get to your destination.
As an added bonus, I've got two playlists chock-full of amazing videos from my fellow panelists that I think you're going to love! The
Young Adult’s Guide to Walt Disney World is perfect for anyone looking to learn more about the nightlife, entertainment, shopping, and must-do's. And on the
Beyond the Theme Parks playlist, you can discover tons of fun things to do outside of the parks, like mini-golf, how to enjoy the Resorts, and much more.
My last tip is to make sure to download the
My Disney Experience app. It will be your best friend during your visit. It has an interactive map, transportation routes, wait times for attractions, and, the cherry on top, mobile ordering for food and beverages! Trust me, this feature can save you tons of time.
Annemarie, I hope this helps with your planning, and I am sure you will have a fantastic time and enjoy every second of it. Please come back anytime
and let us know if you have more questions. It's always a pleasure to help a friend like you.
Cheers
Nilson
