Ahoy there, Lauren, and thanks for stopping by planDIsney with your question! I love that you’re already planning ahead for your September cruise.
As a fellow planner (and sometimes over-packer myself!), I completely understand wanting to make sure you bring everything you’ll need on board without accidentally packing something that might get held back at security. Thinking ahead like you are is the best way to make embarkation smooth and stress-free.
When it comes to what not to pack, some of the most commonly forgotten restrictions actually fall into the 'convenience' category. For example, clothing irons, steamers, and garment presses are not permitted onboard since they pose a fire risk. Similarly, surge protectors, extension cords, and power strips are not allowed. But have no fear, your stateroom will be equipped with plenty of outlets (for both American and European plugs). Since some things may surprise you, I recommend referencing the
Prohibited Items list to look for anything else you might be questioning (for example,
how much alcohol you're allowed to bring onboard).
Since you’re clearly a thoughtful packer, I’d also recommend checking out this
Disney Cruise packing list. It’s a great resource for making sure you’ve got everything from swimsuits to themed attire for special nights. And while you’re at it, remember to separate what goes in your carry-on bag versus your checked luggage: you’ll want to keep
travel documents, medications, electronics, valuables, and maybe even a swimsuit with you, since checked bags may not arrive in your stateroom until later on embarkation day.
You’re already setting yourself up for smooth sailing by double-checking these details now, Lauren. With your planner’s mindset (and a little pixie dust), you’ll be free to focus on the fun once you step onboard. And if any other questions float up along the way, you know where to find us here at

SEA ya real soon!
