Hi Kayala and welcome to planDisney! Hopefully for you EPCOT is a lot closer to you than Xandar and the 2.5 million light-year trip, although a ride on the
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will make that trip feel a lot shorter! Now we go through those jump points on the Cosmic Generator, let’s tackle your question!
Every responsible Epcot-Terran should know what you can and can’t bring into the theme parks. Luckily for you, Walt Disney World provides a
list of property rules that list prohibited items, prohibited activities, and guest courtesy and attire policies. I suggest reviewing these before your visit. Just know that in addition to these rules, Cast Members have the sole and absolute discretion to prohibit any other items not listed in the rules that they may deem harmful or disruptive.
Here’s a handy list of things I like bringing with me to the parks!
- A UV protection umbrella (great for blocking out the sunlight, UV rays, and the rain!);
- A reusable water bottle (luckily there are many water refilling stations at the parks and many quick-service restaurants will also provide complimentary ice water!);
- A handheld fan to keep me cool on hot days;
- A battery pack to keep my phone charged throughout the day;
- Hand sanitizer and/or sanitizing wipes; and
- A pair of sunglasses to keep the bright sunlight out of my eyes
I know it sounds like a lot, but all of those items fit comfortably in my crossbody sling. My wife likes to keep these items in one of her many
Loungefly backpacks. Here’s a protip! If you have an umbrella, battery pack, or glasses case with you, make sure to take them out of any bag and hold them straight in front of you and far from your body when you pass through security to avoid having to do an enhanced security search.
