Will I have any issues booking 7 days at WDW for the 1st week of Feb '13 if I can't book (due to financial reasons) until Jan 31, '13? Basically booking Thursday, leaving next day, getting there Saturday night?

Hi, Jason!  The first week of February is usually a pretty good week to head to Walt Disney World!  If you can be flexible with your accommodations, you should be able to find something for seven days.  If worse comes to worst, you may have to split your stay between two resorts, but I have booked rooms as close as a few days out and been able to find space.

You can book a room only reservation, which requires only a one night deposit, then pay the balance when you arrive.  That might help you lock in specific accommodations for just a small, upfront charge.

    Have a great vacation!
